MAGMA
About the course:
The Basic Training course is intended for beginner users. The focus of this training is a basic approach to simulation and learning for software manipulation.
Agenda:
- The MAGMA APPROACH
- Basic definitions in MAGMASOFT: interface, operation and settings
- Project definitions, geometry perspective and mesh generation
- Basics of simulation: material and process procedures, filling and solidification simulations
- Introduction to evaluation of simulation results
- Communication of the decision and taking measures
Available topics:
- Sand castings
- High pressure die casting
- Permanent mold castings
Duration: 3 days
Prerequisites: None
About the course:
The Advanced Training course is based on the Basic Training, and is focused on specific casting process. The main objective of this training is to promote a deep interpretation of the results, discussions in the prediction of casting defects and the use of advanced setup techniques. At the end of the training, users will be able to efficiently evaluate the simulation results.
Agenda:
- Use of the module-specific software capabilities
- Development of the material and process specific contents
- Detailed evaluation of the results
- Systematically evaluating partial results and deriving measures
- Learning about the advanced functions of the software
Available topics:
- Iron castings - Steel castings
- Nonferrous & low pressure sand casting
- High pressure die casting
- Permanent mold & low pressure die castings
- Stress (sand casting or permanent mold)
- Core and mold production
Duration: 2 days
Prerequisites: Attendance of Basic training
Recommendations:
- For proper use of the MAGMASOFT® simulation tool, both courses Basic and Advanced trainings are required and are sold together. However, the courses are not taken consecutively – we recommend minimum 6 weeks of practice between Basic and Advanced training.
- When the customer purchases a new module, only Advanced Training is required.
About the course:
This training module will enable users to use the MAGMASOFT integrated design optimization features, in order to improve the simulation solutions. You will learn how to lead you to a casting with better properties and reduced costs by modifying certain process parameters or project parameters.
Agenda:
- Statistical design of experiments
- Methodological approach for optimization
- Creation of parametric geometries
- Systematically working with the Assessment Perspective
- Introduction to the autonomous optimization with MAGMASOFT
Available topics:
- Sand castings
- High pressure die castings
- Permanent mold & low pressure die casting
Duration: 2 days
Prerequisites: Attendance of Advanced training
Recommendations:
- Minimum 3 months of experience in MAGMASOFT
